FAQ

  • Do you take insurance?

I unfortunately do not take insurance. I do offer sliding scale for massage sessions and doula visits.

  • What can your massage sessions help with?

I observe clients’ posture during our journey which allows me to apply the right techniques while they are on the table.

Along with clients’ self-care practices and homework that I give to them, massage can help with flexibility, increase circulation, relax tight and restricted muscles, improve breathing, reduce pain, relaxation and stress relief.

For pregnant and postpartum women, I do the same along with helping them physically and mentally prepare for labor and birth. For more answers to prenatal and postpartum massage FAQs, please head over to my sister-site, click here.

  • What is Thai Massage?

Thai Massage also known as Nuad Boran is a massage modality that comes from Thailand. It consists of firm pressure, yoga-like stretches and it is believed to have been given to the Buddha from his physician Dr. Jivako. It’s great for dancers and athletes or anyone who enjoys deep pressure. Learn about my style, here.

  • What is a Doula and why should I hire one?

Generally, a doula is a support person that provides emotional, physical, spiritual, educational support, and evidence-based information to expectant and postpartum mothers and their families.

Birth Doulas support mothers during birth and provides uninterrupted comfort measures that allow the baby to descend into the pelvis and out of the birth canal.

Postpartum Doulas support the mother so she can be a mother to her baby. Feeding her, doing light cleaning, supporting her milk supply, giving support to the partner as well.

If this is your first time being a mom, birth doulas can help you since the first-time birth tends to be longer than the second and third +. Some labors last 2-3 days or more depending on if you’re doing a home birth or at the hospital. Hospital settings tend to delay labor due to its fast-paced environment. Having a doula lessens the chance of you having unnecessary interventions such as a c-section, separating you and the baby after birth, etc.

Postpartum can also consist of a lot of unknowns that new parents didn’t realize would occur. Postpartum Doulas are great for when you’re feeling lost and alone.
